An underlining concept of the fool and his money becomes a sadistic joke originating from pedestaled designers.

Perhaps the Jeremy Scott crew was inspired from watching the hilarity that occurred nationwide several months ago with another shoe phenomenon:

 

A sadistic game indeed, that fosters a sense of urgency from both the mentally manipulated and the manipulator-predator.  An isolated individual with a false superiority complex, usually very bored, taking great pleasure and effort to observe human reaction. To test what would come forth as a result of his/her creation, that is, with test subjects nowhere nearly affiliated with their fraternity.

This is an investigation of mutual responsibility on the behalf of both parties, another insult toward Human intelligence and progression, in addition to being a grand testament toward the power of Human conditioning and Modern Mind-Lock!

A Mind Game that showcases dominance among the top of the mental food chain.  Allowing those who subscribe to suggestion over fashion, politics, and religion to be drawn out to the public for shameful ridicule, which self-perpetuates a lack of self-confidence and self-identity.

As far as the Shackle reference, well, I've prepared a lengthy rebuttal.

There shouldn't have to be a "pledge" to begin with.
Mankind should have enough mental capacity to operate independently without having to recite some ritual, some holy chant.
Surely we have evolved as a species to acknowledge free will & thought rather than relying on patriotic (fascist) psychology.
Now that "under God" was removed, there drew up a high level of hostility.
Seems counter-productive to argue about an omission like this, if in fact, living "under God" is an absolute truth.
Is the sky blue? Yes
Are lemons sour? You betcha
Living "under God"? Well....Some say yes, some say no.

Electro-signals tell our brains that it is sour.
Gravitational and atmospheric conditions create the hues in the sky.
Saying some merciful (and recently, quite vengeful) entity created....everything, is too simple and doesn't challenge the brain.
God has no place on national broadcasting, keep it on the 700-Club or something.
That way it can appeal to a target audience.

O.K. Who made the electro-signals that tell my brain that it is sour and the gravity and atmospheric conditions that create the hues in the sky? God has every place in our whole world because He not only created it He owns it. As for vengeful, does a father not punish a child? We make our own choices, making the one to deny His presence and not accept His love and forgiveness is an eternal one.

Thank you, NBC, for omitting "under God" - wording that was added to the Pledge in 1954 during the McCarthy era. The "under God" wording unnecessarily excludes millions of Americans who don't believe the nation is under a deity. Don't be bullied by a million comments presenting only one point of view. The version of the pledge that you ran - the original one - is actually inclusive of all Americans. Bravo!

We need to pray for our country, it is going to hell in a hand basket. Too many people want to deny who, what, when and why this country came about and what made it the country it is today, or should I say was 30 years ago. Since then it has been torn to shreds by the people crying politically correct at Gods expense. I pity those that never get it, God loves them but making the wrong choice is a mistake with eternal ramifications.

"under God" influenced a fellowship towards God & country, something people desperately needed during those turbulent times 50-years ago.
That also brought in many of the standards of Capitalism that has also run amok lately.
Thus being mandated into American society as the "go-to" source for reasoning and some sheer veil granting us instant stability.
Faith in God should have been designated differently, as a hobby or past-time.

Our forefathers insistence on a separation of Church and State DOES NOT mean that no one is allowed to publicly declare a belief in a god. The founding fathers came here from a country where the church was run by the state (Church of England), where religious beliefs were mandated by law. The religious persecution is what they fled, not the belief in God. Nowhere in our constitution does it say that political leaders, schools or even television broadcast companies are not allowed to have or state religious beliefs, only that you cannot be forced by the state to adhere to a specific religion. To insist that any utterance of a belief in God by anyone in any position of public service is unconstitutional is ludicrous.

The early states were already divided concerning religious beliefs. 
Thus the need to prohibit the federal government, or any national institution, to take sides with any one religion. There's so many tribes & denominations here in America, you can't stamp all of the public addresses with one type of God. Oh wait, there doing it anyway, looks like money talks, huh? Funny we are still up and arms about this matter 200-years later and still going nowhere fast...

this will be my last reply to the topic, because I feel enough has been said. Also, NBC does not deserve any recognition which may prompt further episodes. I will continue to evade NBC stations, networks and those who purchase advertizing space with them.
Although you seem to be an intelegent person, Just like many in your camp you have chosen to be where you are today. I do say that is your right. Remain where you are until the end of time. If I am wrong then what have I hurt. If you are wrong, whoa to you on the last day. Oh, by the way you "will" bow your knee.

  I'm neither. I like some the things Marx wrote and some I thought was kind of dumb. I think he had good ambitions. Communism was a complete failure though.

  I personally am a full on Communist. Technically I can't be considered a Marxist because I don't agree with the dictatorship of the proletariat and some other characteristics, but I pretty much agree on almost everything else. The tendency I describe myself with is Anarcho-Communism, because I am also an Anarchist. What was it you were talking about up in your original post? It sounds interesting.

  Capitalism has built this modern world we live in. Communism, I whole heartedly believe, was a reaction to the emergence of unrestrained capitalism. Since that time, countries with capitalist economies have instituted social welfare programs in order to placate those who do not flourish in the capitalist model. I'm a supporter of such programs and the formation of unions. These political institutions act as a counterweight to the heartless nature of capitalism.
  
  Capitalism isn't the cause for America's middle-eastern wars. Regardless, the costs associated with such conflicts aren't small, but they aren't overly significant either. America's debt crisis is due to low taxes more than anything. We definitely have much to work on as a nation. There are still many issues to address, but overall, capitalism will remain. It's all about efficiency. Communism isn't efficient and the product of communism has been workers who show little initiative. Research the problems of integration Germany has had. The former Communist East Germans are not willing to work as hard and produce as well as Western Germans. This has caused considerable tension because they are now having to compete. In East Germany, they were used to being paid the same wage and guaranteed a job regardless of performance. Thus, there is no incentive to work hard. Another issue is that Central planning simply fails. It always has. If you can somehow get over these hurdles and create an efficient, innovative, communist economy, then hey man my hat's off to you. I just don't think it's going to happen.

  We've based our way of living that revolves around the dollar. Human beings devalue themselves in order to obtain said dollars, turning us into cut-throat buffoons by every generation.
  Capitalism is the bastard child of feudalism from the Medieval times, where you are valued by land & resource accumulation.
  Capitalism is a heartless monster that chews up society, digests it, and spits it out leaving the land barren and uninhabitable.
  Money, in a grand sense, is stupid, makes mankind simple-minded like a host of piranhas.
  I'm all about intercontinental commerce, but in light of Capitalism, outsourcing has been a common form of action for American companies. They are willing to amputate their left foot in order to keep the head CEOs profits alive.
  Levels of class create a division between human beings, we are all one, and we should fellowship in advancing society. Minus the unnecessary monarchy.
  
  In regards to our original topic: Our treasured Constitution are chalk full of no-brainer, moot stand-points. Hello, free speech and slavery are obvious subject matters. Progressive times require a new doctrine, a new "Magna Carta" in a sense.

  If the apology posted actually came from the NBC corporate heads then they are the ones to blame. Network heads can not tell me that the decision was made from below their level without prior knowledge. I am certain in my opinion that many, many had reviewed this shameful indignity to our country. Give us all a break and just admit the truth, in my opinion the deed was done with every intention to receive the publicity it has gotten. Never will I watch the many networks that NBC owns.

  I am well aware of that. President Eisenhower asked the congress to change the original in the nineteen fifties. It has not been changed back to original in 2011 by anyone, and should not be change just because the editor has a need to satisfy the few.

  I totally disagree. By removing "under God" you are removing the truth and this nation was founded under our freedom to worship him. The reason you dont want to acknowledge God is cause you dont want to acknowledge the truth. I would much rather have Jesus and find out he wasnt real (which wont happen) then be without him and find out hes real and go to hell. your choice. i think the "under God" should stay and yes. im glad people think christians are trying to take over. maybe the country will do better with a little honesty. my 2 cents worth.

  Thomas Jefferson wrote "...I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between Church & State."
  
  Meaning he didn't want a presiding entity (i.e. national broadcasting network) to overstep our rights for religious liberty. Not everyone agrees with religion, therefore NBC is neutral ground.

  Therefore there is no need to ask as to why you have taken a humanist view.
  Please do not judge me as though I feel as though the words "under God" are just a religious view of mine, but a patriotic view.
  Adherence to the laws of this great land is more my purpose. The pledge is at this time, does indeed, contain the words you have found so offensive.
  Because they maybe offensive to you, you have a right to privately not to say them. NBC who has publicly used it's format to lead others in the pledge of allegiance, may not have the same right.
  With thorough know ledge of this, (and I do hope you understand)you must agree that to do other than the "in effect" pledge at this time is treasonous.
  You are given the right to contact your Congressional Representatives to ask them to institute laws that reflect you point of view.
  Perhaps by the time you have changed the pledge we will be one nation with only one viewpoint. Yours'.
  Until then do not expect others to admonish this unpatriotic act of treason or go unerringly down your road.
  Again, I must ask for forgiveness for any portion you have lost in your life, that while living in this wonderful country, if indeed the pledge has done so.
  If you are so very adamant to live in a country that does not support the knowledge of, and bestow words of acknowledgement to a supreme being, feel free to move about the world as you see necessary.
